Aventurine's summer alter drops the shields entirely. Waveflair is an AoE Quantum main DPS on the Elation path — the path that debuted in 4.2 — who charges Fervor every time any ally attacks and auto-fires Elation Skills once it builds up. He releases September 12, 2026 in Version 4.5 Phase 2, sharing the schedule with the Ashveil rerun. A separate character from Aventurine: pulling one does nothing for the other.
Waveflair is the second and last new character of Version 4.5, following Robin • Summeretto in Phase 1. Because 4.5 is a shortened five-week patch, his banner runs straight into the 4.6 boundary: it closes September 27, the same window Version 4.6 is expected to open.
Everything below comes from pre-release beta data, not the live game. The multipliers were buffed late in beta and could shift again before September 12 — treat the shape of the kit as reliable and the exact numbers as provisional. The one-line version: he is a battery that every ally attack charges, and once charged, he fires AoE Quantum damage on his own.
Waveflair gains Punchline and Fervor stacks whenever any ally attacks — his, yours, follow-ups, everything. Fervor caps at 30 stacks. This is the entire premise of the character: the more actions your team takes, the faster he charges, so his output is a direct function of who he stands next to.
At 10 Fervor, Waveflair automatically fires an Elation Skill dealing AoE Quantum damage — no turn spent, no skill point spent. In a team that attacks constantly this fires again and again per cycle; in a slow team it barely fires at all. Beta data also shows Fervor being consumed to enhance these casts for more damage, with Punchline tied to the enhancement — the exact interaction is still unsettled.
His talent grants bonus Elation DMG while he holds the Certified Banger status — the damage type his Elation Skills deal. Beta descriptions have his Technique granting starting Fervor and Certified Banger before battle, so he opens fights partially charged rather than from zero.
A major trace converts SPD into Elation DMG: +30% at 160 SPD, plus +1% for every SPD point above that. This makes SPD his primary offensive stat rather than a rotation convenience, and it is why his signature light cone carries SPD on top of CRIT Rate.
One rule decides every Waveflair team: he wants allies that attack constantly. Follow-up attackers, multi-hit supports, anything that adds actions feeds his Fervor. The obvious home is the Ashveil + Mortenax Blade follow-up core from 4.4. The obvious anti-pattern is a slow burst roster that takes few actions per cycle — there his charging engine starves and the kit loses its point. Both teams below are projections from the beta kit, not tested compositions.
We place Aventurine • Waveflair on the tier list the day he releases, September 12. We don't rank characters we can't test on live endgame content, and every number above is beta-derived and subject to change at launch. Until then this page is a preview, and it says so at the top.
The community read on the beta kit is "strong but narrow": the late-beta buffs pushed his multipliers high, but he only reaches them in teams built to attack constantly. That makes the pull decision unusually roster-dependent.
Save for him if your roster leans follow-up attacks or Elation. The Ashveil rerun on the same September 12–27 schedule is a matched set — the two banners assemble his best expected team in one phase. If you already own the 4.4 FuA core, he's the missing front end.
Hold your Stellar Jade if your teams are slow burst rosters. He does not fix a hypercarry account; he needs one already built around action frequency. The math is unchanged: worst case, a guaranteed featured 5-star costs 180 pulls (28,800 Stellar Jade), so a narrow specialist is a pull you make deliberately — ideally after our launch-day verdict on September 12.
