Basic Hehe! Don't Get Burned!

Deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of Hook's ATK to a single enemy. Standard basic attack with low priority in normal gameplay since using the Skill is almost always better.

100% of ATK
Skill Hey! Remember Hook?

Deals Fire DMG equal to 240% of Hook's ATK to a single enemy with a 100% base chance to inflict Burn for 2 turns. Burned enemies take Fire DoT equal to 65% of Hook's ATK at the start of each turn. After using her Ultimate, this Skill is Enhanced: it deals 280% ATK to the target and 80% ATK to adjacent enemies, with the same Burn chance.

240% single target
Ultimate Boom! Here Comes the Fire!

Costs 120 Energy. Deals Fire DMG equal to 400% of Hook's ATK to a single enemy. After using the Ultimate, the next Skill becomes the Enhanced version, which hits the main target and adjacent enemies. Also triggers the A6 trace: Hook's action is Advanced Forward by 20% and she regenerates 5 Energy.

400% single target
Talent Ha! Oil to the Flames!

When Hook attacks a target afflicted with Burn, she deals Additional Fire DMG equal to 100% of her ATK and regenerates 5 extra Energy. The A2 trace also restores HP equal to 5% of her Max HP whenever this Talent triggers, giving Hook notable self-sustainability.

+100% extra Fire DMG
Technique Ack! Look at This Mess!

Immediately attacks the enemy. Upon entering battle, Hook deals Fire DMG equal to 50% of her ATK to a random enemy and inflicts Burn on every enemy for 3 turns. Burned enemies take Fire DoT equal to 50% of Hook's ATK each turn. A great way to pre-apply Burn before the first turn.

Eidolons

E 1
Early to Bed. Early to Rise
Enhanced Skill deals 20% increased DMG. Since the Enhanced Skill is Hook's only source of AoE damage, this Eidolon meaningfully improves her multi-target performance in situations where enemies are grouped together.
Solid Upgrade
E 2
Happy Tummy. Happy Body
Extends the duration of Burn caused by the Skill by 1 turn. This greatly improves the reliability of Burn uptime between Skill uses, ensuring Hook's Talent triggers more consistently without needing extra Effect Hit Rate investment.
Consistency Boost
E 3
Don't Be Picky. Nothing's Icky
Skill Level +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK Level +1 (max 10). The Skill level increase directly boosts Hook's primary damage source and improves the Enhanced Skill multipliers.
Level Boost
E 4
It's Okay to Not Know
When the Talent is triggered, there is a 100% base chance to Burn enemies adjacent to the target enemy, equivalent to the Burn from the Skill. Combined with E2's extended Burn duration, this pushes Hook's multi-target damage to a significantly higher level.
Significant Upgrade
E 5
Let the Moles' Deeds Be Known
Ultimate Level +2 (max 15) and Talent Level +2 (max 15). Boosts both her burst damage and her Talent's Additional Fire DMG, offering a meaningful increase across her whole kit.
Level Boost
E 6
Always Ready to Punch and Kick
Hook deals 20% more DMG to enemies inflicted with Burn. Since Burn uptime is nearly 100% in a built Hook team, this is effectively a permanent 20% all-damage multiplier. Simulation data shows E6 increases single-target output by approximately 24.6% compared to E0 (265,803 vs 213,413 damage).

Major Traces

Innocence
Ascension 2
Hook restores HP equal to 5% of her Max HP whenever her Talent is triggered. Since the Talent fires on every attack against a Burned target, Hook can heal herself several times per turn in a well-built team, dramatically reducing her reliance on dedicated healers.
Naivete
Ascension 4
The chance to resist Crowd Control Debuffs increases by 35%. Provides meaningful protection against stuns, freezes, and other CC effects in endgame content, keeping Hook active more consistently in fights with heavy crowd control.
Playing With Fire
Ascension 6
When using her Ultimate, Hook's action is Advanced Forward by 20% and she additionally regenerates 5 Energy. This is the key trace that makes Hook faster than she appears: the action advance reduces downtime between turns and the extra Energy accelerates her next Ultimate, creating a self-reinforcing loop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hook sits at B Tier. She is a decent and functional Fire DPS, but not the most powerful option available. If you are lacking a Fire damage dealer and have an E6 Hook from natural pulls, she can genuinely surprise you in content where Fire Weakness is relevant. She is not recommended as a deliberate investment over pulling newer units, but she is far from useless at E0 either.
At E0, Hook has a 100% base chance to apply Burn with her Skill, so Effect Hit Rate is not required for the initial application. However, enemies with Resistance to Fire or debuffs can reduce reliability. E2 extends Burn by 1 turn, making uptime much easier to maintain. At E4, the Talent also spreads Burn to adjacent enemies at 100% base chance. In most practical scenarios, you do not need to stack Effect Hit Rate on Hook.
Hook's kit is almost entirely single-target. Her Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate all hit only one enemy. Her Enhanced Skill adds a small 80% ATK Blast hit to adjacent enemies, but this is infrequent (only after each Ultimate). Destruction characters typically excel at AoE and multi-target damage, which Hook doesn't really do. She performs more like a Hunt DPS who pokes adjacent targets occasionally, making her stronger in single-boss encounters than in wave-based content.
134 Speed is the recommended breakpoint for Hook in most team compositions. With her A6 trace providing a 20% Action Advance on each Ultimate, she naturally takes more turns than raw Speed suggests. If running her with Sparkle or Bronya for Hyperspeed setups, you can stay at her base Speed of 94. Endgame data shows the average Speed among Hook users is around 106, so aim for at least that before pushing further into CRIT stats.
Hook is rated T5 in both Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction at E0. Her single-target focus makes her poor in Pure Fiction, where AoE damage is king. In Memory of Chaos, she fares better but is still limited by the lack of more powerful utility or team synergies compared to top-tier DPS characters. If you need a Fire unit for a Fire-weak boss in MoC, she can get the job done, especially at higher Eidolons.
Hook is a 4-star character and Eidolons accumulate naturally over time from the Stellar Warp. E2 is a notable quality-of-life improvement for Burn consistency, E4 pushes her into a more competitive zone by spreading Burn to adjacent enemies on each Talent trigger, and E6 provides an effective 20% DMG increase against all enemies in a well-maintained Burn setup. If you have spare copies, leveling her Eidolons is worth it, but deliberately targeting Hook Eidolons with Warp resources is not recommended over pulling newer characters.
