Basic Frost Shot

Deals Ice DMG to a single target equal to 100% of Pela's ATK at max level. The core action used during SP-positive phases when no Skill is needed. While not a DPS ability, it still contributes to Energy generation and triggers the Talent on debuffed enemies.

100% of ATK
Skill Frostbite

Removes 1 buff from the target and deals Ice DMG equal to 210% of Pela's ATK at max level. Extremely valuable against buff-reliant enemies like Sanctus Medicus Shape Shifters and Mara-struck soldiers. Also provides extra Energy, allowing better Ultimate cycling when used selectively.

210% of ATK
Ultimate Zone Suppression

Deals Ice DMG equal to 100% of Pela's ATK to all enemies, with a 100% base chance to inflict Exposed on every enemy. While Exposed, enemies' DEF is reduced by 40% for 2 turns. Costs 110 Energy. This is the entire reason to bring Pela: massive AoE DEF shred on a low-cost Ultimate that can be cycled almost every 2 turns.

40% DEF shred
Talent Data Collecting

If the enemy is debuffed after Pela's attack, she restores 10 additional Energy. This effect can only be triggered once per attack. Combined with her already low Ultimate cost, this near-guarantees back-to-back Ultimates whenever enemies remain debuffed, which is virtually always in her teams.

+10 bonus Energy
Technique Preemptive Strike

Immediately attacks the enemy. Upon entering battle, Pela deals Ice DMG equal to 80% of her ATK to a random enemy, with a 100% base chance of lowering the DEF of all enemies by 20% for 2 turns. A great way to pre-apply DEF reduction before the team's opening actions.

Lies Dance on the Breeze
Lies Dance on the Breeze
Cipher's signature and the strongest option on Pela. Grants 18% SPD and applies a 24% DEF shred debuff on hit. Requires the wearer to reach 170 SPD to also apply the Theft state for an additional 10% DEF reduction. Pela's naturally high SPD build makes this threshold reachable.

#2
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
The best accessible option and what most players should use. Applies Ensnare on hit (up to 100% base chance at S5), reducing the enemy's DEF by 16% for 1 turn. Plays around timing: apply during or right after enemy turns. Stacks well with Pela's own Ultimate DEF shred for massive combined reduction.

Good F2P alternative. Boosts Effect Hit Rate and increases DoT DMG, the latter being less relevant but the EHR alone provides meaningful debuff reliability.

Eidolons

E 1
Victory Report
When an enemy is defeated, Pela regenerates 5 Energy. In content with multiple enemies such as Pure Fiction, this effectively reduces her Ultimate cost to nearly zero during kill phases, allowing constant DEF shred reapplication.
Solid Upgrade
E 2
Adamant Charge
Using Skill to remove buff(s) increases SPD by 10% for 2 turns. A situational but useful eidolon that rewards buff removal against buff-heavy enemies, giving Pela burst Speed for better rotation timing.
Situational
E 3
Suppressive Force
Skill Lv. +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK Lv. +1 (max 10). Increases the Skill's damage multiplier, though Pela rarely uses it as a damage tool. Incremental improvement overall.
Incremental
E 4
Full Analysis
When using Skill, there is a 100% base chance to reduce the target enemy's Ice RES by 12% for 2 turns. Very impactful for Ice DPS teams like Jingliu, stacking on top of Pela's DEF shred and any Ice DMG bonus from Penacony for a significant damage increase.
High Pull ValueIce Teams
E 5
Absolute Jeopardy
Ultimate Lv. +2 (max 15) and Talent Lv. +2 (max 15). Meaningfully increases both the DEF shred percentage and the bonus Energy returned from the Talent, resulting in a real improvement to her core loop.
Meaningful Upgrade
E 6
Feeble Pursuit
When Pela attacks a debuffed enemy, she deals Additional Ice DMG equal to 40% of her ATK. Makes Pela deal more damage across all attacks when enemies are debuffed, which is virtually always in her teams. Primarily cosmetic in value compared to E4/E5 but makes an already solid character slightly more offensive.
Offensive Bonus

Major Traces

Bash
Ascension 2
Pela deals 20% more DMG to debuffed enemies. Since enemies in Pela's teams are almost always debuffed (by her own Ultimate), this is effectively a permanent personal damage bonus, though Pela is a support and this rarely matters in practice.
The Secret Strategy
Ascension 4
While Pela is on the battlefield, all allies' Effect Hit Rate increases by 10%. This is Pela's most impactful trace for the team: it reduces the amount of EHR your other debuffers need to stack on their own builds, freeing up relic slots for offensive stats.
Wipe Out
Ascension 6
Using Skill to remove buff(s) increases the DMG of Pela's next attack by 20%. A small damage bonus rewarding buff removal, but Pela's role is as a support and this rarely influences team-building decisions. Nice-to-have rather than a core consideration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. As a 4-star character, Pela is one of the most accessible DEF shredders in the game. Her AoE 40% DEF reduction from her Ultimate remains powerful at any stage, and her exceptional SP economy makes her fit into virtually any team without friction. Even as new limited 5-stars release, Pela continues to appear in high-performing MoC and Pure Fiction teams.
DEF reduction in Honkai: Star Rail is additive, meaning multiple sources of DEF shred add their percentages together rather than multiplying. This means stacking Pela's 40% Ultimate shred with Resolution Pearls' 16% Ensnare and the Genius of Brilliant Stars relic set's 10-20% DEF ignore creates a compound effect that proportionally increases damage output. There is no diminishing returns on DEF reduction itself, making Pela's contribution consistently valuable.
Pela should primarily use Basic ATK to stay SP positive and generate Energy through her Talent. The Skill is best used when: (1) enemies have a key buff that needs to be removed, (2) you have surplus SP and want extra Energy for a faster Ultimate, or (3) you are running Before the Tutorial Mission Starts and want to apply additional DEF shred. Outside those situations, Basic ATK is almost always correct.
The recommended Speed target is 143, which lets Pela take 3 turns to every 2 of a 95 SPD enemy, ensuring she gets her Ultimate back before the Exposed debuff expires. A faster Pela (160+) can maintain near-100% DEF shred uptime against even fast enemies. The key insight is that Pela's debuff only ticks down on enemy turns, so being faster than enemies gives more time to reapply it with her next Ultimate.
Her Ultimate has a 100% base chance to inflict Exposed, so no EHR is technically required for the DEF shred itself. However, EHR matters if you are using Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat (the Ensnare debuff has a base chance) and for any status effects from her Skill. The 67% EHR target accounts for endgame enemy Effect RES and ensures consistent debuff application from all sources, including the Resolution Pearls LC.
E4 is the most meaningful eidolon for Pela, adding 12% Ice RES reduction on Skill use, transformative for Ice DPS teams like Jingliu. E5 is also a notable upgrade since it increases Ultimate and Talent levels, boosting both the DEF shred percentage and Energy return. E1 is useful in multi-wave content. Since Pela is a 4-star, her eidolons are obtainable through the general pool and limited banners, making E4 a realistic target for dedicated players.
