HSR 4.5: Release Date, Banners and Tier List Impact
Expected August 25/26, 2026 · Last updated August 23, 2026
Version 4.5 closes out the summer stretch of the 4.x cycle with two special performance 5-stars, both confirmed through official drip marketing. This page tracks what is actually known, and it is updated the day the patch goes live - including where both new characters land on the HSR tier list.
HSR 4.5 release date
Version 4.5 is expected on August 25/26, 2026, following the six-week cadence HoYoverse has held through the 4.x cycle. Version 4.4 began on schedule, which puts 4.5 maintenance in the usual window and the patch live the same day for most regions. Phase 2 follows roughly three weeks later, and the version runs until Version 4.6 begins in early October.
HSR 4.5 banners
Both characters below were revealed by HoYoverse drip marketing, so their element, path and rarity are confirmed. The phase dates are the expected schedule rather than an official announcement, and kits are not public until the patch is live.

What 4.5 changes on the HSR tier list
Nothing, until we can test it. Both 4.5 characters are placed on the HSR tier list on release day, measured the same way as every other unit: endgame performance at E0, with relics an ordinary account can farm, across Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow.
The 4.4 meta going into this patch is an Elation core built around Evanescia, with Himeko • Nova and Silver Wolf LV.999 sharing the top tier. A Remembrance Wind unit and an Elation Quantum unit both slot into that conversation, but where they land depends on numbers nobody outside the beta has yet. Every movement gets logged with a date and a reason in the changelog.
Should you save for 4.5?
Each pull costs 160 Stellar Jade. In the worst case - carrying no pity and losing the 50/50 - a guaranteed featured 5-star costs 180 pulls, or 28,800 Stellar Jade: ninety to lose the 50/50, ninety more for hard pity. Holding a guaranteed 50/50 or carrying pity from a 4.4 banner cuts that sharply. Check Warp → Details in game before committing.
HSR 4.5 FAQ
When does HSR 4.5 release?
Version 4.5 is expected on August 25/26, 2026. HoYoverse runs Honkai: Star Rail on a six-week patch cycle, and 4.4 began on schedule, so 4.5 landing on the 25th or 26th is the standard cadence rather than a leak.
Who are the new characters in HSR 4.5?
Two, both officially drip-marketed by HoYoverse: Robin - Summeretto, a 5-star Wind character on the Remembrance path, and Aventurine - Waveflair, a 5-star Quantum character on The Elation path. Both are new summer forms of existing characters. Their paths and elements are confirmed; full kits are not public until launch.
Where will the 4.5 characters rank on the tier list?
We do not place characters before we can test them. Both 4.5 units are added to the HSR tier list on release day, once their kits are live and we can measure them in Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow. Ranking an unreleased character from drip marketing alone is guesswork, and it is how tier lists lose trust.
How much Stellar Jade do I need for a 4.5 banner?
Each pull costs 160 Stellar Jade. Worst case - no pity carried, losing the 50/50 - a guaranteed featured 5-star takes 180 pulls, or 28,800 Stellar Jade. If you already hold a guaranteed 50/50 or carry pity from a 4.4 banner, it costs considerably less. Check Warp then Details in game for your current count.
Bookmark this page - it is rewritten the day 4.5 goes live, with both characters ranked. For the current rankings, see the HSR tier list for Version 4.4.
