No. Saber performs well with On the Fall of an Aeon or other 5-star Destruction light cones. Her signature (A Thankless Coronation) is a meaningful upgrade providing CRIT DMG, post-Ultimate ATK, and Energy stats, but is not required to clear all endgame content at E0.
Core Resonance is Saber's unique resource. She gains it from her Talent (3 points whenever any ally uses Ultimate), from her Technique (2 points), on entering combat (1 point), and from her Skill when it doesn't trigger the consumption effect (3 points). When she has enough Core Resonance and her Skill use can fully restore her Energy through consumption, she spends all Core Resonance points, each point boosting the Skill's DMG multiplier by 7% and restoring 8 fixed Energy. The goal is to always enter Skill use with full Core Resonance loaded.
Sunday provides action advance that lets Saber take more turns, uses his own Ultimate frequently (triggering Saber's Talent for 3 Core Resonance and 30% DMG each time), and provides CRIT DMG buffs. This means Saber should be 1 SPD faster than Sunday to benefit from his advance while also running ahead of his action window.
Aim for at least 135 SPD to activate the Firmament Frontline: Glamoth damage bonus. When running Sunday, Saber should be 1 SPD faster than Sunday to properly benefit from his action advance. Do not sacrifice CRIT substats for excessive Speed beyond these breakpoints.
Saber performs well across both modes. Her Ultimate hits all enemies (useful in Pure Fiction for multi-target waves) while her Skill excels on single targets (strong in Apocalyptic Shadow). Her rating is S+ overall and SS in both Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow, making her one of the most flexible endgame DPS options available.
E1 and E2 are the strongest value pulls. E1 gives a 60% Ultimate DMG increase and extra Core Resonance per action, extremely impactful at a single copy. E2 stacks DEF ignore and doubles the Skill multiplier bonus from Core Resonance, further amplifying her burst damage. E6 provides 20% RES PEN on Ultimate, increases overflow Energy cap to 200, and on the first Ultimate each fight grants 300 Energy, a huge quality-of-life and damage upgrade but limited to dedicated fans at 6 copies.
