The Navigator takes the helm herself. Himeko • Nova pilots the Starblazer mech, hands every ally an Assist Skill, and channels her Ultimate into a six-volley beam barrage that ignores Weakness Types entirely. With a Trailblaze Companion on the team she shifts into Verdict or Decimation mode, turning her into either a single-target hypercarry or a teamwide CRIT DMG engine. Not to be confused with base Himeko, the standard-pool Follow-Up ATK unit — they are entirely separate characters.
Nova's kit runs on one loop: her Talent auto-deploys the Starblazer Visioscape Territory, which gives every ally an Assist Skill. Allies spend their turn on the Assist to make the Starblazer attack in an Extra Turn — and when the user is a Trailblaze Companion, Nova gains a Companion Protocol mode (Verdict or Decimation) that defines the whole build. Read the Assist Skill and both Protocols below before anything else; they are her defining mechanic.
BasicEnkindle the First Lodestar
Deals Fire DMG equal to 50–110% of Nova's ATK to a single enemy. Filler action for turns where you are banking Skill Points and her Ultimate is not ready. It exists; it is fine; you will rarely think about it.
110%of ATK (max)
SkillUpraise the Vanward Cresset
A pure support button. Immediately recovers all Assist Skill uses and grants Nova "Navigator's Semaphore" for 3 turns: while it holds, all allies deal 10–22% more DMG and 1 Assist Skill use is automatically recovered at the start of every turn. This is what keeps the Assist economy flowing — the Skill deals no damage itself, but it refuels the ability that does. Her Technique even auto-casts it at the start of each wave.
22%team DMG (max)
UltimateWe, Too, Stride the Stars
Costs 150 energy. Nova takes direct control of the Starblazer, which fires up to 6 "Hyperluminal Particle Beam" volleys — each an AoE hit that generates 1 Source Energy (max 3). Source Energy can be spent mid-channel on "Orbital Annihilation Pulse", dealing up to 381–838.2% ATK Fire DMG to one designated enemy plus up to 126–277.2% ATK to everything else. When the volleys run out, the Pulse fires automatically, followed by a Final Hit of 3 bounces at 40–88% ATK each. Critically, unused volleys carry across waves — if everything dies mid-Ultimate, the Starblazer holds its remaining shots for the next wave instead of wasting them.
838.2%max ST pulse
TalentOf Fire and Far Faring
While Nova is on the field, the Territory "Starblazer Visioscape" deploys automatically, summoning the Starblazer and granting every ally 1 Assist Skill use. Using an Assist counts as Nova using her Skill. Nova herself gains 10–22% All-Type RES PEN and 40–88% CRIT DMG, and her attacks ignore Weakness Types when reducing Toughness, triggering Fire Weakness Break on any enemy. Allies other than Nova regenerate 4 energy each time they use their Assist. This is why she works into any enemy lineup — she never needs a Fire weakness to break.
88%CRIT DMG (max)
AssistTrailblaze, By Your Side
The team-wide extra ability. Any ally can spend their turn to call the Starblazer, which attacks in an Extra Turn: Fire DMG equal to 80–176% of Nova's ATK to all enemies plus 3 bounces at 12–26.4% each. When Nova launches it herself, it upgrades to 100–220% AoE with 4 bounces at 18–34.8%. All of it scales off Nova's stats, not the user's — a support spending their turn here converts it into main-DPS damage. If the user is a Trailblaze Companion other than Nova, she additionally enters one of the two Companion Protocol modes below. Free Assists granted by those modes cap at 2 per battle, resetting when Nova uses her Ultimate.
176%of ATK (ally use)
ModeCompanion Protocol: Verdict
Triggered when the Assist user is the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, or Sunday. Nova's DMG increases by 50–110% and her Ultimate DMG by an additional 50–110%. Every 2 teammate Ultimates, she launches a free Assist Skill at no cost. This is the single-target hypercarry mode: everything funnels into Nova's own Pulse damage.
110%DMG boost (max)
ModeCompanion Protocol: Decimation
Triggered when the Assist user is March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or base Himeko. All allies gain 50–110% CRIT DMG, plus an additional 50–110% CRIT DMG on Skill damage. Every enemy target hit by allies grants 1 Charge; at 9 Charges, Nova fires a free Assist Skill. This is the AoE and multi-DPS mode — the teamwide CRIT DMG buff is enormous, and hit-heavy teams charge free Assists constantly. The two Protocols are mutually exclusive, but switching preserves the accumulated charge.
110%team CRIT DMG
TechniqueStarcharter Cruise
Having Nova in the team raises the max Technique Points by 3. Using her Technique costs 2 points, enters a 30-second "Cruise" state, and attacks all enemies in range — Normal enemies are defeated instantly without entering combat, refunding the points if nothing is hit. After entering combat, she automatically uses her Skill at the start of every wave, meaning Navigator's Semaphore and a full Assist refill are active from turn one of each wave without spending an action.

Ultimate first — the Orbital Annihilation Pulse multipliers (up to 838.2% ATK) are the largest numbers in her kit. Talent second: it levels her RES PEN and personal CRIT DMG. Skill third for the team DMG buff. Basic can stay untouched.
On Speed: sources genuinely split here, so we hedge. With action-advance supports like Sunday feeding her turns, her 98 base Speed is workable and ATK% boots win. Without advancement, pushing toward the ~134 range gets her more natural turns and Assist launches. Match the boots to the team you actually run, not to a universal number. An Energy Regen rope is likewise situational — her Assist economy already feeds energy (18 per Assist launch, and the signature light cone adds more), so ATK% is the default.

A Star That Lights the Night
Her signature and clear best-in-slot. Ignores 32% of enemy DEF, restores 6 energy per Assist Skill, and builds "Sail" stacks (max 3) worth +20% Assist DMG each — at 3 stacks, each also grants +20% Ultimate DMG. Roughly a 15–20% damage jump over the alternatives, but not mandatory.

#2
Into the Unreachable Veil
The strongest non-signature option (~117% relative performance). A Skill/Ultimate-focused Erudition cone that lines up neatly with a kit where every Assist launch counts as a Skill use.

#3
Night on the Milky Way
The standard-pool workhorse. At S5 it performs around ~118% — on par with or above the limited alternative — and many accounts already own copies. ATK per enemy on field plus damage on Weakness Break suits her AoE volleys and Toughness-ignoring breaks.

Today Is Another Peaceful Day
Battle pass 4-star and the best budget pick. Damage scaling tied to max energy works fine with her 150-cost Ultimate, and superimpositions come naturally over time.

As Navigator Isee Sees It
The 4.3 cavern set, and it might as well have her name on it. 2-piece grants ATK +12%; the 4-piece stacks up to +18% Skill and Ultimate DMG. Since her Assist Skills count as Skill uses and her Ultimate is her entire burst window, the whole set bonus applies to essentially everything she does. Farm this before anything else.

Wavestrider Captain
Solid runner-up while you farm the new set. CRIT DMG plus an ATK spike around Ultimate usage fits her burst-channel pattern, and many accounts already have good pieces sitting in inventory.

Scholar Lost in Erudition
The classic Erudition set. CRIT Rate plus Skill/Ultimate DMG with a post-Ultimate Skill amp — a perfectly serviceable transition set with the same Skill-and-Ultimate focus as her best-in-slot, just less of it.

Fallen Star Anchorage
The new 4.4 planar set, built for the Trailblaze Companion tag. 2-piece: CRIT Rate +8%, plus +32% CRIT DMG while the team has 2 or more Trailblaze Companions. Nova counts as a Companion herself and her teams always include at least one more — so in practice the full bonus is permanently active. Nothing else comes close.

Best Teams for Himeko • Nova
One rule is non-negotiable: at least one other Trailblaze Companion on the team. The Companion roster — Trailblazer, Himeko, March 7th, Evernight, Dan Heng, Imbibitor Lunae, Permansor Terrae, Welt, and Sunday — decides which Protocol mode you get, so build the team around the mode you want, not the other way around. Verdict triggers for single-target, Decimation triggers for AoE.
Sunday is the premier partner: action advance and CRIT support on top of being a Verdict trigger, so his Assist use both feeds Nova's mode and accelerates her turns. Sparkle keeps Skill Points and turns flowing. Permansor Terrae sustains while doubling as a second Companion — with three Companions total, Fallen Star Anchorage never turns off, and frequent teammate Ultimates keep Verdict's free Assists coming.
Welt activates Decimation, handing the whole team up to 110% CRIT DMG while his multi-hit kit and Nova's beam volleys rack up the 9-hit Charges for free Assists. Mortenax Blade shreds DEF and amplifies damage taken, and his own Charge loop feeds on exactly the kind of hit frequency this team generates. Huohuo sustains and accelerates the 150-energy Ultimate. Swap Evernight into the trigger slot if you own her.
The same Verdict core with Cerydra in the amplifier seat instead of Sparkle. Run whichever premium Harmony you own better built — the structural requirements (a Verdict trigger plus sustain that is also a Companion) stay identical, and Sunday plus Permansor Terrae cover both.
The free Trailblazer (Ice) in Remembrance form is a Companion every account owns — a Verdict trigger that costs zero pulls. Welt gives you a Decimation option in the same lineup, so you can pick the mode per fight: Verdict into bosses, Decimation into waves. Huohuo rounds it out with healing and energy for the Ultimate loop.

Eidolons
E1
That Which We Stride Is the Trailblaze
The extra Assist Skill uses from her Talent increase by 1. In Verdict, the Ultimates required for a free Assist drop by 1; in Decimation, the Charge requirement drops by 3. Her own Assist launches also gain 1 extra damage instance. A very stacked first Eidolon — it accelerates both Protocol modes at once and adds raw hits on top.
High Pull Value
E2
The Colors We Never Strike
Her Assist use cap rises to 2, and Ultimate and Assist Skill DMG become 130% of their original value — a flat multiplier on effectively her whole kit. Navigator's Semaphore recovers an additional Assist use per turn, and non-Companion characters using Assists now also receive the extra turn from her Ascension 4 trace. The consensus biggest jump; E2S1 is the recommended stopping point for heavy spenders.
Best Stopping Point
E3
We Who Are Starborn Muse Starward
Ultimate level +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK level +1 (max 10). The Ultimate levels land directly on her largest multipliers — the beam volleys and the Orbital Annihilation Pulse — making this a straightforward damage bump.
Solid Upgrade
E4
Let No Skyward Hand Stay Unheld
The All-Type RES PEN from her Talent now applies to all allies when Assists are used, and Nova herself gains an additional 10% RES PEN on top. Converts a personal stat into a team aura — notably strong in multi-DPS Decimation lineups.
Good Passive
E5
To Cross the Cosmos and Beyond
Skill level +2 (max 15) and Talent level +2 (max 15). The Talent levels raise her RES PEN and personal CRIT DMG caps; the Skill levels push the teamwide DMG buff from Navigator's Semaphore. Incremental, but everything it touches is always active.
Incremental
E6
Ours Is the Oath to Sail Starward
Fire RES PEN +20%, Source Energy cap raised to 6, and every ally Assist grants +75% Assist DMG plus 1 Source Energy. Beam volleys generate an extra Source Energy each, and a Pulse fired at 6+ Source Energy deals a bonus 160% ATK AoE instance. Dramatically powerful — the doubled Source Energy economy turns every Ultimate into a maximum-value Pulse chain.
Massive Upgrade

Whither, the Last and First Men?
Ascension 2
When Nova launches an Assist Skill herself, it does not consume Assist uses. At the start of her turn, if Assist uses are already at cap, she regenerates 5 extra Energy. In plain terms: her own Assists are free, so the shared pool is reserved for the teammates who actually trigger her Protocol modes — and overflow converts into Ultimate progress instead of being wasted.
Hark! The Express's Pulse Roars
Ascension 4
When a Trailblaze Companion other than Nova uses an Assist Skill, that character immediately gains 1 extra turn in which they can insert their Ultimate. This is the trace that removes the Assist economy's real cost — a Companion spending their action on the Starblazer gets the action right back. It is why her teams stack Companions rather than merely meeting the one-Companion minimum.
The Silver Rail, Hushed in Antiquity
Ascension 6
Using her Ultimate immediately grants 3 Source Energy. While at 3 or more Source Energy, the Orbital Annihilation Pulse's multiplier against random single enemies increases by 30%. Guarantees the Ultimate opens with a full-value Pulse available instead of needing to build charge through beam volleys first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, if you want a top-line Fire AoE carry. She is endgame-viable at E0 with free light cones, and her Ad Astra Nova banner runs the entire version, through August 25, 2026, so there is no urgency. Budget carefully: the Fate collab gives every player a free Gilgamesh or Archer, and the collab banners have no end date — you can secure the free unit first and still pull Nova afterward. Check the banner schedule before committing jades.
They are separate characters. Base Himeko is a standard-pool Fire Erudition unit built around Follow-Up Attacks. Himeko • Nova is a limited 5-star Fire Erudition main DPS who pilots the Starblazer mech, grants every ally an Assist Skill, and buffs the team through Companion Protocols. They can even share a team — base Himeko is one of Nova's Decimation triggers. Their builds, teams, and ratings on our tier list are entirely independent.
Trailblaze Companions are the Astral Express crew tag introduced in 4.4: Trailblazer, Himeko, Himeko • Nova, March 7th, Evernight, Dan Heng, Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, Welt, and Sunday. Nova effectively requires at least one other Companion on her team — their Assist Skills are what activate her Companion Protocol modes, which carry a huge share of her damage and team buffs. Without one, you are leaving up to 110% DMG (Verdict) or a teamwide 110% CRIT DMG buff (Decimation) on the table. The free Trailblazer counts, so every account can meet the requirement.
Verdict (triggered by the Trailblazer, the Dan Heng forms, or Sunday) increases Nova's own DMG and Ultimate DMG by up to 110% each — the single-target hypercarry mode for boss fights. Decimation (triggered by March 7th, Evernight, Welt, or base Himeko) grants up to 110% CRIT DMG to all allies and charges free Assist Skills from enemy hits — the AoE and multi-DPS mode for wave content. The modes are mutually exclusive, but switching preserves accumulated charge, and a team carrying one trigger of each type can choose per fight.
A Star That Lights the Night, her signature, is best: 32% DEF ignore, 6 energy per Assist Skill, and stacking Sail bonuses to Assist and Ultimate DMG — roughly a 15–20% damage jump. Into the Unreachable Veil and Night on the Milky Way (~117–118% relative at high superimposition) are strong alternatives. On a budget, Today Is Another Peaceful Day from the battle pass, the free The Day The Cosmos Fell, or a superimposed Geniuses' Repose all keep her fully functional — the signature is a luxury, not a requirement.
As Navigator Isee Sees It (4pc) is tailor-made: its stacking Skill and Ultimate DMG bonus covers her Assist launches (which count as Skill uses) and her entire burst window. Pair it with Fallen Star Anchorage, whose +32% CRIT DMG condition — two Trailblaze Companions on the team — is always satisfied since Nova counts as one herself. Aim for a CRIT Rate body, ATK% boots (or Speed, depending on your supports), a Fire DMG sphere, and an ATK% rope.
