Skills

Basic Radiant Streak / Fiery Caress Blast

Standard form deals Fire DMG to a single enemy. While in Torrid Scorch state, the Basic ATK is enhanced: deals Fire DMG to a single target and splash Fire DMG to adjacent targets. Used routinely to conserve Skill Points while maintaining team buffs.

50% of ATK (single)
Skill Virtue Beckons Bliss

Grants one ally "Foxian Prayer" and enters the Torrid Scorch state for 3 of Fugue's turns. Foxian Prayer increases the target's Break Effect by 15% and allows them to reduce Toughness even on enemies without matching Weakness Type (at 50% effectiveness). While in Torrid Scorch, every time the buffed ally attacks, Fugue has a 100% base chance to reduce the attacked enemy's DEF by 8%, lasting 2 turns (stackable up to 18% total DEF reduction).

18% DEF shred max
Ultimate Solar Splendor Shines Upon All

Deals Fire DMG equal to 100% of Fugue's ATK to all enemies. This attack fully ignores Weakness Type when reducing Toughness, and triggers the Fire Weakness Break effect on any enemy whose Toughness reaches 0. Costs 130 Energy. A useful tool for AoE Toughness stripping, though not the core of her kit at E0.

100% AoE fire DMG
Talent Fortune Follows Where Virtue Spreads

While Fugue is on the field, enemies are afflicted with Cloudflame Luster equal to 40% of their Max Toughness. When the initial Toughness is depleted, Cloudflame Luster can be further reduced, triggering a second Weakness Break with full Break effects. Additionally, after allies attack Weakness Broken enemies, their Toughness Reduction is converted into 1 instance of 50% Super Break DMG.

50% Super Break
Technique Percipient Shine

After using Technique, inflicts Daze on enemies within a certain area for 10 seconds. Dazed enemies will not actively attack allies. When entering battle by attacking Dazed enemies, Fugue's action advances by 40% and all enemies receive the same DEF reduction as that applied by her Skill, lasting 2 turns.

Long Road Leads Home
Her signature. Provides massive Break Effect% and a stacking Break DMG taken debuff that triggers every time an enemy is Weakness Broken, including the second Break from Cloudflame Luster. Both stacks apply almost immediately in practice, amplifying the whole team's Break damage output.

#2
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
Best F2P option. The Ensnare DEF reduction stacks with Fugue's own Skill DEF shred and applies to multiple targets via her enhanced Basic ATK. Doesn't provide Break Effect, so reaching 220% may require more investment elsewhere.

Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
Best-in-slot cavern set. The 4-piece bonus ignores 10% of enemy DEF on Break DMG at 150% Break Effect, and ignores an additional 15% of enemy DEF on Super Break DMG at 250% Break Effect. Fugue's goal is 220%+, so both thresholds are reachable and amplify every source of Break damage the whole team produces.

Strong alternative, especially when paired with Cloudflame Luster. The 4-piece regenerates 3 Energy per Weakness Break, and Fugue's second-break mechanic triggers the bonus an additional time per enemy cycle, significantly improving Ultimate uptime.

Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern
Best-in-slot planar set when fighting Fire-weak enemies. Provides SPD and, crucially, a massive +40% Break Effect in combat when Fugue hits an enemy with Fire Weakness. Most of her best partners (Firefly, Gallagher, Lingsha) implant Fire Weakness, making this almost always active.

Best Teams for Fugue

Fugue is a Break support and works best with Break-focused DPS. She enables double Weakness Breaks via Cloudflame Luster and converts ally Toughness damage into Super Break DMG, making every hit from your carry far more threatening. Apply her Skill to the DPS or a high-hit-rate sustain for maximum DEF shred stacking.

The Harmony Trailblazer provides higher raw Super Break than Fugue for Firefly specifically, but Fugue frees the Trailblazer for other content while still delivering Super Break, Exo Toughness, and DEF shred. Eidolons

E 1
Earthbound I Was, Cloudward I Be
The ally target with Foxian Prayer increases their Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%. This dramatically accelerates Toughness depletion, allowing Break-focused DPS to reach full Breaks and trigger Cloudflame Luster significantly faster against high-Toughness targets.
High Pull Value
E 2
Beatitude Dawns for the Worthy
When an enemy's Weakness is broken, Fugue regenerates 3 Energy. After using Ultimate, advances all allies' action by 24%. The Energy regen synergizes powerfully with Cloudflame Luster's double-break mechanic; in heavy AoE situations, Fugue essentially has near-free Ultimate availability.
Game Changer
E 3
Verity Weaves Thoughts to Blade
Skill level +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK level +1 (max 10). Directly improves the Break Effect buff and DEF reduction on the Skill, tightening the gap between stack cycles and making the DEF shred more substantial in prolonged fights.
Solid Upgrade
E 4
Bereft of Form, Which Name to Bear
The ally target with Foxian Prayer increases their Break DMG dealt by 20%. A clean, unconditional damage buff to the primary DPS that stacks on top of all other Break amplification in her kit.
Good Passive
E 5
Colored Cloud Rains Fortune
Ultimate level +2 (max 15) and Talent level +2 (max 15). The Talent increase improves the Super Break DMG conversion rate. Combined with E2 allowing more frequent Ultimates, this eidolon makes the full kit noticeably more powerful.
Incremental
E 6
Clairvoyance of Boom and Doom
Fugue's own Weakness Break Efficiency increases by 50%. While in the Torrid Scorch state, Foxian Prayer applies to all allies simultaneously, not just the designated target. Every teammate gains Break Effect, Weakness Type ignore, and DEF reduction stacking, transforming Fugue from a single-target buffer into a full-team Break support.

Major Traces

Verdantia Renaissance
Ascension 2
After ally targets break weakness, delays the action of the enemy target by an additional 15%. Combined with the natural 15% delay from standard Weakness Break, this becomes 30% total action delay per Break. With Cloudflame Luster triggering a second Break shortly after, enemies can face back-to-back delays that keep them nearly perpetually suppressed.
Sylvan Enigma
Ascension 4
Increases Fugue's Break Effect by +30%. Additionally, the first time Skill is used in combat, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point. The Break Effect bonus is a major contributor toward hitting the 220% threshold needed for the A6 trace. The SP refund provides welcome breathing room at the start of fights.
Phecda Primordia
Ascension 6
When an enemy's Weakness is broken, teammates (excluding Fugue) gain +6% Break Effect. If Fugue's Break Effect is 220% or higher, this buff is boosted by an additional +12%, for a total of +18% per stack. Lasts 2 turns and stacks up to 2 times (total +12% or +36% at full stacks). This is why reaching 220% Break Effect is non-negotiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

While Fugue is on the field, every enemy gains a secondary Toughness bar called Cloudflame Luster, equal to 40% of their Max Toughness. This bar only begins depleting once the enemy's initial Toughness reaches zero. When Cloudflame Luster is fully depleted, the enemy receives another Weakness Break, triggering all Break effects, delays, and DoT a second time before the Toughness bar recovers normally.
Mostly yes, but with caveats. The Harmony Trailblazer provides up to 160% Super Break, while Fugue provides 50% (100% at max Trace). For Firefly, who is completely reliant on Super Break, this gap is significant. Fugue is a valid Trailblazer replacement if you want to free your Trailblazer for other teams, but she is not strictly an upgrade for Firefly the way she is for Boothill, Rappa, or Himeko. Running both Fugue and the Harmony Trailblazer together, replacing Ruan Mei, is also viable, especially with E1 Fugue.
Fugue's A6 trace (Phecda Primordia) grants teammates +6% Break Effect per break, but only boosts it to +18% per stack if Fugue herself has 220% or more Break Effect in combat. At 2 stacks, that is the difference between +12% team Break Effect and +36%. The in-combat sources (A4 trace +30%, Forge planar set +40% if active, Ruan Mei A2 +20%) are not visible on the stat screen, so aim for around 190% on the character screen and let combat buffs push you over the threshold.
In most teams, apply Foxian Prayer to the main Break DPS (Firefly, Boothill, Rappa). However, in compositions where the DPS already has element-agnostic Toughness damage, it can be more valuable to buff a high-hit-rate sustain like Lingsha or Gallagher. Those units can then generate large amounts of Toughness damage and DEF reduction stacks on their own while the DPS focuses on dealing damage. At E6, Foxian Prayer applies to all allies simultaneously, making this decision moot.
Fugue can technically function in non-Break teams as a Nihility debuffer. Her DEF shred from Foxian Prayer affects all DMG types, and she can apply debuffs that feed mechanics like Acheron's Slashed Dream. However, her unique value lies entirely within Break synergies (Cloudflame Luster, Super Break conversion, the A6 Break Effect buff). Outside of Break teams, generic Nihility supports like Jiaoqiu, Black Swan, or Silver Wolf will almost always outperform her.
E0 is already excellent for most players. E1 is the most impactful early investment, granting +50% Weakness Break Efficiency to the buffed ally and massively accelerating Toughness depletion speeds. E2 provides near-infinite Ultimate cycling via Energy from Breaks and a powerful post-Ultimate action advance for all allies. E6 transforms Fugue from a single-target buffer into a full-party Break support, the largest power spike. E1 and E2 together represent strong value if you are committed to a Break-centric account.
