Herta chains her own follow-up attacks into triggering Himeko's Talent, and Himeko's follow-ups can re-trigger Herta's in turn, creating an endless loop of follow-up attacks. Robin's 100% Action Advance and massive ATK% buff maximizes their combined damage. Aventurine provides shields without needing heals.

Before Dawn is the best overall for CRIT builds, boosting CRIT DMG, Skill and Ultimate DMG, and amplifying follow-up attacks. For Super Break builds, After the Charmony Fall is superior due to its Break Effect bonus and post-Ultimate SPD boost. F2P options include Geniuses' Repose from Stellar Warp or Night on the Milky Way for Pure Fiction specifically.
Every time any enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, Himeko gains 1 Charge (max 3). When she reaches 3 Charge and any ally attacks, she immediately launches a follow-up attack dealing AoE Fire DMG to all enemies and consuming all Charge. She starts each battle with 1 Charge already. The key is building teams that can rapidly inflict Weakness Break, especially against Fire-weak enemies where Himeko herself can contribute Toughness damage directly.
Himeko struggles significantly in single-target scenarios. Her kit is designed around multiple enemies: her follow-up's Charge generation relies on Weakness Breaks (easier with multiple enemies), her Ultimate's Energy refund on kills requires kills, and all her biggest damage tools hit all enemies (AoE). Against a single boss with high toughness that is difficult to Break, Himeko's output drops considerably. Use Imbibitor Lunae, Acheron, or other dedicated single-target DPS for hard boss fights.
Aim for 135 SPD to get two turns in the first cycle and meet Firmament Frontline: Glamoth's first SPD requirement. 143 SPD is the next breakpoint for Glamoth's stronger bonus tier. 160 SPD is the third tier and very strong but hard to achieve. Any of these breakpoints are valid; prioritize the one achievable within your current relic budget without sacrificing too many CRIT substats.
Choose based on your team. CRIT Himeko (Ashblazing, Before Dawn, Salsotto) excels in Pure Fiction with follow-up partners like Herta, Topaz, and Robin. Super Break Himeko (Iron Cavalry, After the Charmony Fall, Forge of Kalpagni) excels with Fugue, Ruan Mei, and Lingsha, dealing massive Super Break damage on every Weakness Break. Both builds are viable; CRIT is more universally strong while Break is exceptional with dedicated support.
E4 is the standout pickup: it grants an extra Charge when her Skill inflicts Weakness Break, significantly increasing follow-up attack frequency without any additional setup. As a standard 5-star, Himeko's eidolons are easier to accumulate over time through standard warps. None are essential at E0, but E4 is the biggest practical upgrade before E6. E6 adds two extra Ultimate hits, approximately a 36% improvement in 3-target scenarios.
