Xueyi's Ascension 2 trace (Clairvoyant Loom) converts her Break Effect stat directly into a permanent DMG% bonus at a 1:1 ratio, capped at 240%. Her minor traces grant 37.3% Break Effect for free, so equipping a Break Effect Link Rope puts her near or above 100% Break Effect, which translates to a permanent 100% DMG bonus on all her attacks before any substats are considered.
Because Xueyi already receives a massive amount of DMG% from her Break Effect via the A2 trace, additional DMG% (such as Quantum DMG Sphere) provides diminishing returns compared to other stats. ATK% scales multiplicatively with the existing DMG% she has, meaning it actually provides more effective damage than stacking the same DMG% type. This is a unique quirk that makes ATK% Sphere better in slot for her.
Yes. Xueyi's Ultimate always reduces Toughness regardless of enemy Weakness type, and at E2 her Talent follow-up also ignores Weakness type. However, she deals significantly more damage against Quantum-weak enemies; Entanglement from breaking Quantum Weakness provides a large damage spike. Against enemies with zero Quantum Weakness, she will still function but will not reach her full damage potential.
The key breakpoints are 134 (recommended baseline), 143, and 160. Hitting 145 SPD activates Talia: Kingdom of Banditry's conditional 20% Break Effect bonus, which is highly desirable as it converts into more DMG% via her A2. Speed can also be provided by teammates like Asta, Ruan Mei, or Hanya, so check your team's SPD buffs before spending substats purely on Speed.
Xueyi is primarily a single-target and Blast DPS. Her Skill has Blast AoE and her Technique hits all enemies, but her Karma follow-up attacks target a single random enemy. In Pure Fiction, where AoE clearing is paramount, she is less effective than dedicated multi-target units. Her strongest game modes are Memory of Chaos and Apocalyptic Shadow, where single-target Break and Toughness damage shine.
E1 is a straightforward 40% follow-up DMG boost and excellent value.
