Basic Pain, Brews Truth

Deals Wind DMG equal to 50% of Anaxa's ATK to one designated enemy. Each hit also triggers the Talent's Weakness Implant effect, adding a random Weakness to the target. Low direct value but useful for energy generation when no Skill Points are available.

50% of ATK
Skill Fractal, Exiles Falacy

Deals Wind DMG equal to 35% of Anaxa's ATK to one designated enemy, then bounces to deal 4 additional instances of 35% ATK Wind DMG to random enemies (prioritising those not yet hit). For each attackable enemy on the field, DMG dealt is increased by 20%. This is Anaxa's primary damage tool. Spam it whenever possible to accelerate Weakness stacking and trigger the Talent's free extra Skill follow-up.

35% ×5 hits (bounce)
Ultimate Sprouting Life Sculpts Earth

Inflicts the Sublimation state on all enemies, then deals Wind DMG equal to 80% of Anaxa's ATK to every target. In Sublimation, enemies are simultaneously afflicted with all seven Weakness types (Physical, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Quantum, Imaginary) lasting until the start of their next turn. Enemies without Control RES are also unable to take action while in this state, effectively acting as a mass crowd-control tool.

80% AoE + all weaknesses
Talent Tetrad Wisdom Reigns Thrice

Each hit Anaxa lands implants 1 random Weakness on the target for 3 turns, prioritising types the target does not already have. When any enemy accumulates 5 or more different Weakness types, it enters the Qualitative Disclosure state: Anaxa deals 18% increased DMG to it, and after each Basic ATK or Skill hit, an additional free Skill is automatically cast on the same target (or a random one if the target dies first). This free Skill does not cost Skill Points and cannot chain into itself.

18% DMG vs Disclosure
Technique Prism of the Pupil

After using Technique, nearby enemies enter a Terrified state and flee from Anaxa for 10 seconds. Entering combat via attacking a Terrified enemy is always treated as attacking a Weakness. Upon entering battle, Anaxa applies 1 Weakness of the attacker's type to every enemy target, lasting 3 turns, giving the team an instant head-start on Weakness stacking before the first action.

Skill first: it is Anaxa's main damage source and triggers the Talent's free bonus Skill most frequently. Talent second since it directly amplifies Qualitative Disclosure damage. Ultimate third for its AoE and crowd-control value. Basic ATK is last priority.

Best Light Cones

#1
Life Should Be Cast to Flames
Life Should Be Cast to Flames
Anaxa's signature light cone. Tailor-made to amplify his DMG against enemies he has implanted Weaknesses on, which is every enemy in any normal fight. Unmatched at any investment level when Anaxa is used as a hypercarry DPS.

Cavern Sets
1
Genius of Brilliant Stars
Genius of Brilliant Stars
Anaxa's best-in-slot cavern set, especially when paired with his signature light cone. The 4-piece bonus allows Anaxa to ignore enemy DEF once they receive Quantum Weakness, which his signature LC applies automatically, stacking on top of his Qualitative Shift trace for massive DEF shred. This combo produces the highest effective damage ceiling.
4-piece signature LC synergy
2
Scholar Lost in Erudition
Scholar Lost in Erudition
Best alternative if you do not have Anaxa's signature light cone. Provides CRIT Rate and increases DMG after using the Ultimate or Skill, both of which Anaxa uses constantly. Nearly as strong as Genius in that scenario and easier to farm early.
4-piece
3
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
Solid third option providing bonus CRIT and DMG amplification against debuffed enemies. Since Anaxa constantly inflicts Weaknesses (which count as debuffs), the 4-piece is reliably active, though it falls behind Genius and Scholar in Anaxa's specific kit.

Planar Ornament Sets
1
Rutilant Arena
Rutilant Arena
Best planar set for Anaxa. Provides CRIT Rate and a 8% increased Basic ATK and Skill DMG bonus when CRIT Rate is at or above 70%. Anaxa easily clears this threshold with a proper build, making the bonus permanently active. Pairs perfectly with the CRIT-focused build strategy.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
Alternative planar set granting CRIT Rate plus an additional 12% CRIT Rate on the Sphere slot when allies share the same path. Use this if you run Anaxa with another Erudition teammate like The Herta, as both share The Erudition path.

Best Teams for Anaxa

With 1 Erudition character (Anaxa himself), the Imperative Hiatus trace gives him +140% CRIT DMG. With 2+ Erudition units, all allies gain +50% DMG instead. The team-wide buff is substantially stronger, so running a second Erudition like The Herta is highly recommended.

Eidolons

E 1
Magician, Isolated by Stars
After using his Skill for the first time, recovers 1 Skill Point. Additionally, when the Skill hits enemies, decreases the targets' DEF by 16% for 2 turns. This DEF shred applies on top of everything else, giving Anaxa's team permanent DEF reduction on anything he attacks, exceptional value at the first eidolon.
High Pull Value
E 2
Soul, True to History
When enemies enter the battlefield, immediately triggers 1 instance of the Talent's Weakness Implant effect on them. Additionally, reduces their All-Type RES by 20%. This universal RES reduction applies permanently to all new enemies, dramatically boosting total damage across all team members. One of the most impactful E2s in the game.
Game Changer
E 3
Pupil, Etched into Cosmos
Ultimate level +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK level +1 (max 10). The Ultimate level increase boosts AoE damage and enhances the Sublimation state's effectiveness. A solid incremental upgrade, though less transformative than E1 and E2.
Solid Upgrade
E 4
Blaze, Plunged to Canyon
When using Skill, increases Anaxa's ATK by 30% for 2 turns. This effect can stack up to 2 times, reaching a maximum of +60% ATK when Skill is used on consecutive turns. Meaningful raw damage boost that rewards the Skill-spam playstyle.
Good Passive
E 5
Embryo, Set Beyond Vortex
Skill level +2 (max 15) and Talent level +2 (max 15). Anaxa's most-used abilities are both upgraded simultaneously. Incremental improvements to the two systems that drive most of his output, worthwhile but not transformative on its own.
Incremental
E 6
Everything Is in Everything
All DMG dealt by Anaxa becomes 130% of the original DMG. Additionally, the two effects in the Trace Imperative Hiatus (the CRIT DMG and team DMG bonuses) are both triggered simultaneously regardless of how many Erudition characters are in the team: Anaxa permanently gains the solo-Erudition CRIT DMG bonus AND the two-Erudition team-wide DMG bonus at the same time.
Massive Upgrade

Major Traces

Roaming Signifier
Ascension 2
When using Basic ATK, additionally regenerates 10 Energy. At the start of each turn, if no enemy targets are currently in the Qualitative Disclosure state, immediately regenerates 30 Energy. This trace rewards sustained Weakness stacking and ensures Ultimate availability is never a bottleneck as long as Anaxa is consistently attacking.
Imperative Hiatus
Ascension 4
Based on Erudition characters in the team: with 1 character (Anaxa alone), increases his CRIT DMG by 140%. With at least 2 characters, increases DMG dealt by all allies by 50% instead. Running The Herta or any other Erudition unit converts his personal CRIT bonus into a massive team-wide multiplier, the single biggest reason to pair Anaxa with a second Erudition unit.
Qualitative Shift
Ascension 6
For every different Weakness Type an enemy has, Anaxa's DMG to that target ignores 4% of their DEF. Up to 7 Weakness Types can be factored in, for a maximum of 28% DEF ignore. Since his Ultimate applies all 7 Weaknesses instantly, Anaxa reaches peak DEF penetration the moment he fires his Ultimate, making this trace an enormous single-target damage amplifier.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Anaxa performs well with The Great Cosmic Enterprise as a free-to-play option. His signature (Life Should Be Cast to Flames) is a meaningful damage upgrade, particularly in hypercarry builds where the DEF-reduction interaction with Genius of Brilliant Stars is most impactful, but he clears all endgame content without it.
Qualitative Disclosure is the debuff state Anaxa's Talent inflicts on enemies that have accumulated 5 or more different Weakness types. Once active, Anaxa deals 18% increased DMG to those targets, and every Basic ATK or Skill he uses on them triggers an additional free Skill cast. This bonus Skill doesn't cost Skill Points and cannot chain into itself, but it does trigger another Weakness implant, maintaining the state indefinitely.
Two Erudition units is almost always better. With only Anaxa (1 Erudition), the Imperative Hiatus trace gives him a personal +140% CRIT DMG bonus. With a second Erudition like The Herta, the effect switches to a team-wide +50% DMG for all allies instead. The team-wide 50% DMG amplifier, affecting every ally including sustain units with sub-DPS output, typically outperforms the solo CRIT DMG bonus by a significant margin. Note: at E6, both effects trigger simultaneously regardless of team composition.
Aim for 134 or 135 SPD and be 1 SPD higher than your action-advance support. Higher Speed gives Anaxa more turns and therefore more Skill uses, Weakness implants, and Qualitative Disclosure procs. CRIT Rate should still be prioritised first to hit the Rutilant Arena threshold (70%+ CRIT Rate), but Speed is the second most important stat in most builds.
Yes. Anaxa's Skill naturally bounces between multiple enemies, and his Talent's Qualitative Disclosure free Skill trigger applies to any enemy, including random ones if the initial target dies. In Pure Fiction with large waves of enemies, his Skill scaling bonus (20% per enemy on the field) also reaches its maximum value most frequently. He performs well across all endgame modes, unlike some DPS characters who are clearly single-target specialists.
E1 and E2 are the most impactful. E1 gives 16% DEF shred on every Skill hit, essentially a permanent team-wide DEF reduction at no build cost. E2 applies an instant Weakness on enemy entry and reduces All-Type RES by 20%, which boosts total party damage significantly. E6 combines both Imperative Hiatus bonuses (personal CRIT DMG and team-wide DMG) simultaneously regardless of team composition, plus a flat 30% DMG amplifier, a transformative ceiling increase, but very expensive at 6 limited 5-star copies.
