Basic Shard Sword

Deals Wind DMG equal to 50% of Blade's ATK to a single target enemy. Used primarily when Hellscape is not active or when Blade needs to save Skill Points. While inside Hellscape, this Basic ATK is replaced by the enhanced Forest of Swords.

50% of ATK
Skill Hellscape

Consumes HP equal to 30% of Blade's Max HP to enter the Hellscape state. While active, his Skill cannot be used, his DMG dealt increases by 12%, and his Basic ATK Shard Sword is enhanced to Forest of Swords for 3 turns. If current HP is insufficient, HP is reduced to 1 instead. This Skill does not regenerate Energy and using it does not end the current turn.

30% HP cost
Enhanced Basic Forest of Swords

Active during Hellscape. Consumes HP equal to 10% of Blade's Max HP and deals Wind DMG to a single enemy equal to the sum of 20% of his ATK and 50% of his Max HP. Also deals Wind DMG to adjacent targets equal to 8% ATK + 20% Max HP. Cannot regenerate Skill Points. If HP is insufficient, reduced to 1 instead.

50% Max HP scaling
Ultimate Death Sentence

Sets Blade's current HP to 50% of his Max HP and deals Wind DMG to a single enemy equal to the sum of 24% ATK, 60% Max HP, and 60% of total HP lost in the current battle. Deals Wind DMG to adjacent targets equal to 9.6% ATK, 24% Max HP, and 24% of total HP lost. The total HP Blade has lost is capped at 90% of Max HP, then resets after the Ultimate fires.

60% HP lost scaling
Talent Shuhu's Gift

When Blade sustains DMG or consumes his own HP, he gains 1 stack of Charge (max 5, capped at 1 per attack received). When Charge reaches maximum, he immediately launches a follow-up attack on all enemies, dealing Wind DMG equal to 22% ATK + 55% Max HP, and restores HP equal to 25% of his Max HP. All Charges are consumed after the follow-up attack fires.

55% Max HP follow-up
Technique Karma Wind

Immediately attacks the enemy. After entering combat, consumes 20% of Blade's Max HP while dealing Wind DMG equal to 40% of his Max HP to all enemies. If Blade's current HP is insufficient, his HP will be reduced to 1 when this Technique is used. A strong AoE opener that also generates Charge stacks right from turn one.

Longevous Disciple
Longevous Disciple
Blade's best-in-slot cavern set. The 2-piece bonus provides HP% and the 4-piece effect has direct synergy with Blade: he can trigger the CRIT Rate stacking buff by taking DMG or consuming his own HP, exactly what he does every rotation. Nothing competes for his slot.

Inert Salsotto
Competitive third option. Boosts CRIT Rate and provides a 15% Ultimate and Follow-up ATK DMG bonus when CRIT Rate hits 50% or higher. Can outperform Rutilant Arena at higher Eidolon levels where Blade's follow-up attacks are more frequent.

Eidolons

E 1
Blade Cuts the Deepest in Hell
Blade's Ultimate deals additionally increased DMG to a single enemy target, with the increased amount equal to 150% of Blade's total HP loss in the current battle. The cap is still 90% of Max HP, and the counter resets after the Ultimate is used. A significant single-target burst amplifier.
Strong Pull Value
E 2
Ten Thousand Sorrows From One Broken Dream
When Blade is in the Hellscape state, his CRIT Rate increases by 15%. Since Hellscape is his primary combat mode and is refreshed every 3 turns, this is effectively a near-permanent bonus that significantly reduces CRIT Rate demands from substats.
Game Changer
E 3
Hardened Blade Bleeds Coldest Shade
Ultimate level +2 (max 15) and Talent level +2 (max 15). Both the Ultimate's HP-loss scaling and the Talent's follow-up attack are his biggest damage sources, so leveling both up directly translates to meaningful damage increases per rotation.
Solid Upgrade
E 4
Rejected by Death, Infected With Life
When Blade's current HP drops to 50% or lower of his Max HP, increases his Max HP by 20%, stacking up to 2 times (maximum +40%). Since Blade spends the vast majority of combat at or below half HP, both stacks are almost always active, granting a 40% HP increase that directly scales all his abilities.
High Passive Value
E 5
Death By Ten Lords' Gaze
Skill level +2 (max 15) and Basic ATK level +1 (max 10). Improves Hellscape activation efficiency and the enhanced Forest of Swords Basic ATK. Incremental gains rather than a kit-defining shift.
Incremental
E 6
Reborn Into an Empty Husk
The maximum number of Charge stacks is reduced to 4 (from 5), meaning the follow-up attack triggers 20% more frequently. The follow-up attack's DMG additionally increases by 50% of his Max HP. At E4+, Blade's HP pool is enormous, making this a massive raw damage jump on his most frequent hitting ability.

Major Traces

Vita Infinita
Ascension 2
When Blade's current HP is at 50% of Max HP or lower, Incoming Healing increases by 20%. Since Blade deliberately keeps himself at low HP to maximize damage, this trace ensures his healers keep him alive more efficiently during his most dangerous and most powerful state.
Neverending Deaths
Ascension 4
If Blade hits a Weakness Broken enemy after using Forest of Swords, he restores HP equal to 5% of his Max HP plus 100. This gives him a small but consistent self-sustain tool during Hellscape rotations when enemies are broken, slightly reducing healer burden.
Cyclone of Destruction
Ascension 6
DMG dealt by the Talent's follow-up attack increases by 20%. The follow-up attack is Blade's most frequent AoE damage source and directly benefits from this passive multiplier every time it fires, a permanent 20% damage increase on a core part of his kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Blade performs well with A Secret Vow at S5 or Ninja Record: Sound Hunt without his signature. The Unreachable Side is a meaningful upgrade providing CRIT Rate, HP%, and extra DMG when attacked or consuming HP, but you can clear all endgame content without it at E0.
Using Hellscape consumes 30% of Blade's Max HP and enhances his Basic ATK to Forest of Swords for 3 turns. During Hellscape, his Skill cannot be used, his DMG increases by 12%, and each Forest of Swords use costs an additional 10% Max HP. The HP cost never kills him. If HP is too low it drops to 1 instead. Since Hellscape does not end his turn, the optimal rotation is Skill (activate Hellscape) then immediately use Forest of Swords on the same turn.
Blade's Ultimate (Death Sentence) deals bonus damage equal to 60% of the total HP he has lost in the current battle, capped at 90% of Max HP. The more HP he has burned through Hellscape and Forest of Swords, the stronger his Ultimate becomes. His Ascension 2 trace also boosts incoming healing by 20% when below 50% HP, making the low-HP window safer. E4 even increases his Max HP when below 50%, further boosting damage while he is in his most dangerous state.
Yes. Blade constantly drains his own HP and gets deliberately hit to charge his Talent. Without a reliable healer he will die before his follow-up attack can fire. Luocha is best for passive off-turn healing, but Huohuo, Lynx, and Bailu all work. Lynx additionally increases Blade's aggro, helping him generate Charge stacks faster, making her a particularly synergistic option despite being a 4-star.
Blade has decent AoE capability through his Talent's follow-up attack (which hits all enemies), Forest of Swords splash damage to adjacent targets, and the Karma Wind Technique's opening AoE. He is viable in Pure Fiction and performs well in Memory of Chaos. His primary strength is sustained single-target and blast damage across multiple cycles rather than burst multi-target output.
E2 is the strongest single eidolon pickup: +15% CRIT Rate during Hellscape massively reduces substat pressure. E1 is also strong, adding an extra 150% HP-loss damage multiplier to his Ultimate. E4 is sleeper-strong because the two stacks of +20% Max HP trigger almost permanently, stacking into every ability Blade uses. E6 reduces the Talent's Charge threshold from 5 to 4 and adds 50% Max HP to the follow-up attack, a considerable DPS increase but expensive at 6 limited copies.
