HSR 4.5: Release Date, Banners and Tier List Impact

HSR 4.5 release date

Version 4.5 went live on August 26, 2026 (August 25 in America-server time), on the cadence HoYoverse has held through the 4.x cycle. One thing is different this time: 4.5 is a shortened five-week patch. Phase 2 begins September 12, and Version 4.6 is expected September 27/28, 2026 — with Pearl (5★ Ice, The Elation) already revealed as its first character.

Each phase pairs a new summer form with a top-tier rerun — and both reruns are genuinely worth attention: Hyacine and Ashveil are both SS on our list.

What 4.5 changes on the HSR tier list

Robin • Summeretto enters at SS. Her Summer Songbird memosprites charge Vibes off every ally action — attacks, heals, shields — and her Fever windows hand the whole team DEF ignore while enemies take more damage. The buff adapts to the ally receiving it (a flat ATK buff for higher-ATK carries, CRIT DMG for lower-ATK HP-scalers), which is why she works in ATK-scaling and HP-scaling teams alike. She earns the rating at E0 with an accessible light cone; the signature is a luxury.

Aventurine • Waveflair is placed September 12, the day he releases — we don't rank characters we can't test on live endgame content. The short preview: a Quantum main DPS on The Elation path (the path added in 4.2) who builds Fervor off ally attacks and auto-fires AoE Elation Skills, at his best in teams that attack constantly — the Ashveil + Mortenax Blade FuA core is the obvious home. Every movement gets logged with a date and a reason in the changelog.

HSR 4.5 events and endgame resets

The flagship event is Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix (Aug 26 – Sep 28), a racing event set in the new Astropolis region — run it for Stellar Jade and the free 4★ Hunt light cone Race to the Horizon. Minuscule Great Adventure follows September 12–28, with Planar Fissure (double planar drops) September 7–21 and Realm of the Strange (double relic drops) September 19–28. The Gift of Odyssey login hands out 10 Star Rail Special Passes.

Endgame calendar for the patch: Anomaly Arbitration started a new cycle August 26, Apocalyptic Shadow reset August 31, and Pure Fiction resets September 14. Memory of Chaos does not refresh in 4.5 — the five-week patch skips it, so your current MoC clear stands until 4.6. Divergent Universe's Synchronicity Level cap also rose to 80. (The 4.5 livestream codes expired August 15 — don't hunt for them.)

Should you pull in 4.5?

Pull Robin • Summeretto at E0S0 if you want one pick: she upgrades whichever team you already own. Sustain-light accounts should weigh the Hyacine rerun first — the game's best healer. If your roster leans follow-up attacks, save for Phase 2: Aventurine • Waveflair plus the Ashveil rerun on the same schedule is a matched set.

The math: each pull costs 160 Stellar Jade. In the worst case — no pity, losing the 50/50 — a guaranteed featured 5-star costs 180 pulls, or 28,800 Stellar Jade. Holding a guaranteed 50/50 or carrying pity from an earlier banner cuts that sharply. Check Warp → Details in game before committing.
